How long does Marinol stay in the body

The primary ingredient of Marinol is dronabinol, which is essentially a pure isomer of THC. The elimination half-life of dronabinol is a two-compartment model, the first (alpha half-life) being of about 4 hours, while the second (beta half-life) being between 25-36 hours.

This puts the time required for elimination of Marinol from your body at roughly between 5 days 17½ hours and 8 days 6 hours.

This timeframe is subject to variation depending on factors listed below:

  • Age
  • Health conditions
  • Body mass
  • Hydration levels and dietary habits
  • Liver and kidney conditions

Marinol and drug testing

Marinol can be detected in body fluids during drug tests, let’s take a quick look at how long it can be detected:

Urine Test 2-80 days
Blood Test 2 days
Saliva Test 1-10 days
Hair Follicle Test Up to 90 days
