The duration for which cocaine stays in the system depends on the method of administration as mentioned below:

Nasally administered (Snorted) 1 hour 15 minutes 6 hours 53 minutes
Intravenous (IV) 42-54 minutes 3 hours 51 minutes to 4 hours 51 minutes

Once cocaine is metabolized, two metabolites, benzoylecgonine, and ecgonine methyl ester are created. Their half-lives are 5-8 hours and 3.5-6 hours respectively. Benzoylecgonine is expected to be removed from the system after 27½-44 hours , while ecgonine methyl ester will take around 19¼ -33 hours.
