How long is Viagra effective for

In an average male, Viagra is effective about 30 minutes after a dose, and its efficacy lasts for about 2-3 hours.  It has been known to be effective for 5 hours for some men.

How long does Viagra stay in your system after the last dose

To understand how long after a dose Viagra will leave your system, we must understand that the drug has an elimination half-life of around 4 hours and 5.5 half-lives. This means that after a single dose of Viagra, it would take your body 22 hours to completely do away with the drug.

The period of time it takes the system to eliminate Viagra is also dependent on individual factors like age, diet, alcohol intake, general health conditions, etc. The strength of the Viagra taken must also be taken into account as the medication comes in doses of 25mg, 50mg and 100mg, and this also has a bearing on how long the remnants of the drug will be in one’s system.

Usually, Viagra is not looked for in drug tests, unless the examiner is specifically looking to embarrass the individual who is being tested.
